We have already taken "JaashSree Aarogya Bima Yojana", for our Artisans at the effort of Khadi Commission. At Persent 1787 Nos. of Artisans are under yhe fold of this approach. The work has been continued for the rest.

As premium Rs.200/- being paid for every artisan every year under this Yojana. For it:

Govt.of India will pay Rs.100/-
KVIC will Pay Rs.50/-
Samity will Pay Rs.25/-
The concerned Artisan Rs.25/-
Will Pay


The benefits of this Yojans for the Artisans are as follows:

Every Artisan for the Natural Death Rs. 30,000/- 
The deceased one for the Accidental Death to be received Rs. 75,000/-
The handicapped due to accident to be received Rs. 75,000/-
The partial handicapped due to accident to be received Rs. 37,500/-

Besides this, the Artissans from 9th standard to 12th standard children are to get scholarship under Siksha Sahayog Yojsna. In this year 53 children of artisans have been benefited to the tune of rs.56,400. Recently samity’s weaver Sadhan Mondal of Silk Khadi Production Centre, Berhampore received Rs. 75,000 due to accidental death.

At the Visit of the Chairperson of KVICat our Institution to be to the Shedding areas of the artisans working place Hon’ble Madam advised to use the Mask to cover the mouth of the Spinners while plying the charkhas to evade the pollution of them for its ecological balance of the atmosphere. The Samity already purchased and distributed 286 Masks among the artisans for their health benefit.

The SFURTI programme under the Govt. of India has been sanctioned as a grant to generate the rural employment in different districts of West Bengal and the Samity has been selected as an Associate Khadi Institution to run the SFURTI Programme under the name of Berhampore-Jangipur Cotton Khadi Cluster. Samity has arranged and organized to run the 24 E- charkhas at Jiaganj Muslin Centre of the Samity.In the year 2008-09 more 24 E- charkhas and 6 improved technology loom [Frame Loom]has been introduced at Jiaganj sub –centre. In this Year under this scheme Jiaganj Muslin Production Centre started to ply the Charkhas of 36 E- charkha and frame loom of weaving at the deposit of 25% of fund to KVIC.

In this Year for the benefit of the artisans KVIC took initiative to launch artisans work shed scheme in the Year 2008-09 and 209-10. 64 artisans have been benefited to receive Rs. 25,000 each for the financial assistant to build the workshed and 33 sheds have to be completed in the Tear 2010-2011.
