A Group insurance scheme for the Khadi artisans numbering 5281 have been introduced at the first phase and the second phase, 1896 more artisans under the scheme has been covered. The scheme provides accidental death and disability benefit to the artisans and also scholarship to their children studying in class – IX to XII under Siksha Sahayog Yojana as given below. The claims are being lodged by the nodal agencies with the designated office of LICI and the position of claims are given below :

| Cost of premium is Rs. 200=00 p.a. |
| 50% of the premium is Rs. 100=00 will be met from the Social
Security Fund of Government of India.

| Remaining amount of premium will be paid by KVIC – Rs. 25=00,
Concerned artisan Rs. 25=00 and the respective institution Rs. 50=00.
